Arsenal defender set for exit

Arsenal defender Mathieu Debuchy is set to join Galatasaray on loan this summer, according to Turkish journalist Gokmen Ozdemir.

The Gunners wing-back has fallen out of favour at the Emirates, with Hector Bellerin having a stranglehold on the right back position. After just 2 Premier League appearances before Christmas, the Frenchman moved on loan to Bordeaux, where he was hampered by injuries, and only played in 9 Ligue 1 games.

Debuchy has only made 12 league appearances in his two seasons at the Emirates since joining from Newcastle United, but still has three years left on his Arsenal contract.

The Turkish club have agreed a deal with the Gunners over a move on loan, and are waiting for the Frenchman to agree personal terms.

Arsenal haven’t been too busy in the transfer window this summer, with only one marquee signing coming in with Granit Xhaka. However, the club have released both Flamini and Rosicky, with Szczesny joining AS Roma on loan.
