Arsenal star Mathieu Debuchy has completed a loan move to Bordeaux until the end of the current campaign, Sky Sports reports.
The 30-year-old has struggled for first-team football ever since his arrival from Newcastle United due to a number of injuries, as well as the emergence of academy star Hector Bellerin.
Bellerin was promoted from the youth team following the injury to the France international and eventually earned a regular place at right-back under manager Arsene Wenger.
Debuchy had held concerns over his lack of playing time as he was keen to depart the Emirates Stadium in order to have a chance of impressing France boss Didier Deschamps ahead of EURO 2016.
The Gunners released a statement via their official website wishing the defender well as he completes a move back to the Ligue 1 following a previous spell with Lille.
“Everyone at Arsenal wishes Mathieu well for his time with the Girondins,” the statement read.
Bordeaux president Jean-louis Triaud was also pleased at his club’s ability to complete the loan deal before the January transfer window came to a close.
“It’s hard to imagine it. Bordeaux signing a France international from the Premier League,” he said.
