Arsenal are considering a move to sign Leicester City star Kasper Schmeichel to reinforce their defence for the upcoming campaign, according to reports from the Express.
The 28-year-old has also caught the eye of Liverpool, who are currently in the market for another goalkeeper following a number of inconsistent performances from Simon Mignolet.
Both clubs are also interested in signing of out-of-favour Chelsea veteran Petr Cech, but he is being tipped to leave the Premier League for first-team football elsewhere.
Leicester extended their deal to keep hold of Schmeichel earlier last season after he was linked with moves to AC Milan and Southampton.
However, it is believed that the Denmark international is happy at the King Power Stadium, but could still be persuaded with a switch to one of the Premier League giants.
He is considered the first choice selection under manager Nigel Pearson, but has only featured 22 times this season due to a lengthy injury spell midway through the campaign.
