Arsenal are yet to reach an agreement over their move to sign Krystian Bielik from Legia Warsaw and may now face late competition from Hamburg, Metro reports.
The 16-year-old earlier admitted that Arsene Wenger’s side was in contact and was edging towards a move to the Emirates, but when he visited the German side, speculation arose that the Gunners may lose out on his signature.
Although the Premier League giants are in advanced talks to acquire his services, Hamburg manager Josef Zinnbauer remains positive on bringing him to the Bundesliga.
He said: “Of course Arsenal are also interested but I don’t think he is bluffing [about his interest in Hamburg], otherwise he didn’t need to come to Hamburg.
“He is a really good boy who has very good build-up play. He would fit in perfectly with our philosophy.”
After various scouting attempts by Wenger, it was concluded that Bielik shares similar characteristics and playing styles to that of club legend Patrick Vieira.
