Arsenal are ready to finally land Karim Benzema, as Real Madrid have made the decision to sell the striker, Metro report.
The France international has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium for a number of years, with Arsene Wenger said to be an admirer of his compatriot.
Arsenal have had some issues in attack of late, with the club’s fans urging their manager to splash out on a world-class frontman to spearhead their title ambitions.
Benzema has been embroiled in a host of off-field controversies and as such Madrid are said to be losing patience with the former Lyon man.
The report suggests that Arsenal are ready to take advantage of this and could well tie up a deal to bring him to North London next summer.
If Benzema did arrive he would compete for a first-team spot with international colleague Olivier Giroud, who scored in yesterday’s win over Sunderland.
