Arsenal starlet Alex Iwobi is on the verge of leaving the club ahead of the closing on the emergency loan window, Daily Star reports.
The 19-year-old is being linked with moves to Birmingham and Reading, with the later team said to have recently sent scouts to monitor his displays.
Reading representatives were present to watch the forward feature for the Gunners reserve squad in the recent 1-0 defeat to Stoke, where he managed to register 45 minutes of game time.
The two interested sides will now have to step up their efforts to acquire his services given that loan window will come to a close tomorrow.
Despite injuries to both Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, it is unlikely that Iwobi will be promoted into the senior squad despite being praised by Aaron Ramsey last month.
“He is very gifted and has great feet so I am sure he will be one to look out for in the future,” he said.
Apart from the two mentioned players, Francis Coquelin, Mikel Arteta, Danny Welbeck, Jack Wilshere, and Tomas Rosicky are among the first team stars still unable for selection.
