Arsenal go back in for German ace

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is set to make another move for Schalke playmaker Julian Draxler this weekend, according to the Metro.

The Gunners have been long term admirers of the German international but talks have struggled to take off between the two clubs both this month and back in the summer.

After seeing Chelsea strengthen their squad this week, and it looks as if Liverpool and Manchester United are going to follow suit next week, Premier League leaders Arsenal seem to have realised they also need to add quality to their squad.

Wenger is hoping to add Draxler to his squad with trophy chances in the league, FA Cup and Champions League still very much alive despite Theo Walcott now facing around six months on the sidelines.

Marquee summer signing Mesut Ozil clearly gave everyone at the club a lift and so the Gunners will be hoping for a similar effect if Draxler arrives in North London; however Schalke are still requesting £37million for their main man.
