Arsenal great not happy with current team

Former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman isn’t convinced that the current squad are good enough to win the Premier League, reports Goal.com

The 52-year-old has urged boss Arsene Wenger to dive into the transfer market, with Granit Xhaka the only marquee signing so far, with less than a month until the new Premier League season begins.

“We still need a dominant centre-half,” said the former England goalkeeper.

“We’ll see what Granit Xhaka’s like in midfield, but ideally we need someone like Patrick Vieira. And a striker as well.”

Seaman won 3 league titles with the Gunners, and clearly believes their French manager needs a new spine to the team, with 3 key positions of his concern. Whilst they finished 2nd in the table last season, the club finished the year 10 points adrift of league winners Leicester City, whilst once again exiting the UEFA Champions League at the first knockout stage.

Arsenal still haven’t signed a striker this summer, despite coming close to buying Jamie Vardy from Leicester City last month.

They kick off their new Premier league campaign at home to Arsenal on August 14th.
