Arsenal have been dealt a transfer blow in their chase to sign Alvaro Morata after Juventus ruled out the possible sale of the star, Express reports.
The 23-year-old is also being linked with a return to former club Real Madrid, given that they have a buy-back option included into his deal following his departure.
However, with reports of Real getting hit with a transfer embargo, the La Liga giants may be unable to open talks over a deal for the forward in the future.
The Gunners are said to be keen on reinforcing their attack given a number of injury concerns in recent months, but Juventus sporting director Giuseppe Marotta has come out to play down his exit.
“We have no interest in dealing with Real Madrid or any other club,” he said.
“We’ve never considered selling Morata. He’s part of the backbone of this team; he’s a youngster who has shown he’s the real thing.
“We’re used to keeping hold of players like him.”
Morata caught the eye of a number of clubs based on his performance last season, scoring a total 15 goals while providing another seven assists from 46 appearances in all competitions.
