Arsenal have been hit with a transfer blow after Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo ruled out the January sale of Adrien Rabiot, Express reports.
The 20-year-old was heavily linked with an exit from the French giants amid concerns over his playing time and recently revealed his desire to leave.
Manager Arsene Wenger is keen to reinforce his midfield during the upcoming window following injuries to Jack Wilshere, Santi Cazorla, and Francis Coquelin.
Leonardo admitted that the Ligue 1 champions are set to keep hold of the midfielder as the squad prepares to rotate players given that they are still part of many competitions this season.
“PSG trust him a lot and I think he’ll remain at the club. PSG are playing lot of competitions and they will definitely need him,” he said.
He only managed to register nine league starts from a possible 19 so far this term, scoring one goal in the process.
The Gunners have hit top form heading into the New Year despite their injury crisis as they now sit second on the Premier League table, two points behind leaders Leicester City.
