Arsenal could be dealt a blow in their chase for Moussa Sissoko after it is believed that Newcastle United are currently discussing a new deal to keep him at the club, Daily Mail reports.
The 25-year-old is heavily linked with an exit as the Gunners are joined by Paris Saint-Germain in chase of the on-form midfielder while the Magpies have placed a £25million price tag on him in order to cool down interest.
However, with both clubs said to have the necessary funds to meet the demands of his move, Newcastle are now looking to offer him a deal hoping he can confirm his stay at St James’ Park.
The two sides will be boosted by Sissoko’s wishes to compete in the Champions League, but although he wants to play in Europe, he insisted that he is currently happy with where he is.
He earlier revealed: “I have ambition. My goal is to play at the best clubs, playing the Champions League, win trophies, but today I am a Magpie and I am very happy,”
