Arsenal have been hit with another injury blow as Kieran Gibbs is confirmed to not be fit enough to face Burnley this weekend, Metro reports.
The Gunners’ injury list continues to grow with the addition of the English left-back, and now only has three senior defenders ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash.
Arsene Wenger was heavily linked with a defender during the summer transfer window after the sale of Thomas Vermaelen, but the French tactician was unable to find a replacement for the now-Barcelona centre-back.
This has cause a defensive injury crisis at the Emirates, as only Per Mertesacker, Calum Chambers, and Nacho Monreal are the only senior players currently available.
Although naturally a left-back, Monreal will have to step in and partner Mertesacker as his centre-back partner, which leaves a youngster to fill the final left-back role.
The Gunners will be looking to one of either Hector Bellarin or Isaac Hayden, with the former having already played in the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund earlier this season.
