Arsenal have been hit with a transfer blow after Southampton head of football Les Reed revealed that the club will not be selling any of their players in the summer, Express reports.
The Gunners are currently being linked with both Morgan Schneiderlin as well as Victor Wanyama as reinforcements to the defensive midfield role.
Reed admitted that they will be looking to add to the current squad rather than let their players leave in the upcoming window.
“It wouldn’t be our intention to sell any of our players this summer,” he said.
“We’re in the process of renegotiating contracts with some but our main purpose at the moment is keeping this squad together and adding to it.”
The Saints are hoping to avoid a repeat of last summer’s St Mary’s exodus which saw Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren, Luke Shaw, and Calum Chambers leave to join opposing Premier League sides.
Schneiderlin is being heavily tipped to depart the club in the upcoming window, with rumours already suggesting that a fee has been agreed upon.
In addition to the two mentioned players, returning forward Jay Rodriguez has also been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur for most of the campaign.
