Arsenal are planning a double swoop for Valencia’s defensive pair Jose Luis Gaya and Joao Pereira, that is according to the Daily Star.
Jose Luis Gaya, despite only being 19, has featured in all but one of Valencia’s La Liga games so far this season – starting 16 of them. However, it is a different story for fellow Arsenal target Joao Pereira, who has been linked with move away from the La Liga outfit since as early as the summer, and is yet to represent Valencia this season as well as being out of contract this summer.
Manchester United have also been linked with Gaya, who has a £15million release fee clause in his contract, as Louis van Gaal looks to strengthen his back line that has conceded 21 goals in the top flight so far.
It is a similar story for Arsenal with Arsene Wenger looking to add to his depleted defensive options, having already confirmed that he will look to bring in “one or two” more players this window.
