Arsenal have emerged as frontrunners for the signature of Schalke 04 star Julian Draxler, a player who was also previously linked with Manchester United, Daily Star reports.
The 21-year-old has been a target for manager Arsene Wenger over the past few seasons and it is now speculated that the Frenchman is ready to make an offer around the £30million region.
Draxler is said to have been left frustrated with his career in the Bundesliga after picking up a lengthy injury which limited him to only 15 league appearances.
He picked up an injury in October and was unable to play up until April, a factor that has now caused him to reconsider his future.
The Germany international is now being linked with a move to the Premier League, but the Gunners may face tough competition from a few of their league rivals.
Apart from United, Manchester City and Chelsea have also keep a watchful eye on the player in the past, and may reignite interest if he is really open to completing a move to England.
