Anderlecht's Lucas Biglia

Arsenal have moved to the front of the queue in the race to sign Anderlecht midfielder Lucas Biglia, according to Sky Sports.

The Gunners have already strengthened their squad this summer with the additions of Olivier Giroud, Lukas Podolski and Santi Cazorla, but a new central midfielder is set to be on Arsene Wenger's shopping list.

A move for Yann M'Vila was touted earlier in the summer, but the north London club are said to have gone off the idea of signing the Rennes and France midfielder.

Biglia has impressed for the Belgian powerhouses for a number of seasons, and has been linked with a switch to Inter and Real Madrid also.

Alex Song's future at the Emirates Stadium is in doubt as Barcelona linger, with the Argentina international seen as a perfect replacement for the African midfielder if he does move to Camp Nou.
