French newspaper L’Equipe are reporting that Arsenal striker Yaya Sanogo is wanted by Ligue 1 outfit Lorient.
The Gunners striker is reportedly available for loan, with Arsene Wenger keen for the France U21 international to gain some regular first-team football. Opportunities are limited at Arsenal due to Olivier Giroud, Danny Welbeck, Alexis Sanchez and the returning Theo Walcott ahead of the forward in the pecking order.
Sanogo began his career in France with Auxerre, so a return to Ligue 1 may well appeal to the forward although it is believed that Le Professeur is keen for his player to remain in the Premier League – Sunderland, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace have been earmarked as potential suitors.
Sanogo has had a difficult start to life in north London, going almost 20 competitive games for Arsenal before notching his first goal – at home against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.
