Arsenal have joined Liverpool in the race for Bayern Munich star Mario Gotze, according to reports from TransferMarketWeb.
Gotze has been heavily linked with a move away from the Allianz Arena in recent weeks, with the Germany international struggling for regular playing time with the Bundesliga champions.
And German publication TZ has already claimed that Gotze will not be part of Carlo Ancelotti’s plans next season, which is set to result in the World Cup winner leaving the club in the summer transfer window.
His expected departure has alerted several of Europe’s elite clubs, with Liverpool frontrunners for his signature due to the presence of Jurgen Klopp.
Klopp managed Gotze during their time together at Borussia Dortmund, and is keen on bringing him to Anfield.
Gotze, 23, has only made 12 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring four goals.
