Arsenal have joined Manchester United in the race to sign Newcastle United star Ayoze Perez, according to reports from the Metro.
Perez has been heavily linked with a move away from St. James’ Park in recent weeks following several impressive displays, with United and Tottenham Hotspur keen on his services.
However, according to Spanish source Fijaches, it looks like the Gunners have entered the chase for his signature.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is once again struggling with several star players sidelined through injury, and could bring in Perez to fill in for the likes of Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The 22-year-old can be deployed either as a striker or as a winger, making him a versatile asset that can play anywhere in the Gunners’ attack.
Perez has been one of the few bright sparks in Newcastle’s season so far, with the Spaniard scoring three goals and supplying two assists in 10 Premier League games.
