The Mirror claim that Arsenal are ready to enter the race to sign Everton star John Stones and will rival Chelsea for the defender’s signature this summer.
The England international has blossomed into a world-class centre-half at Goodison Park, with the Blues launching an attempt to sign him over the off-season.
The Toffees spurned a number of approaches for Stones from the reigning Premier League champions, which has in turn impacted negatively on Jose Mourinho’s side this term.
Stones is sure to be at the centre of a transfer struggle at the end of the current campaign again, but it looks unlikely that Everton would sell their star in January.
Arsenal are reportedly set to rival the Blues for the centre-half’s signature, which would see the London rivals in direct competition for the defender.
Barcelona are also believed to be interested in Stones, who will be a key man for England at Euro 2016.
