Arsenal legend Ian Wright has heaped praised on Manchester United’s summer signing Anthony Martial as he believes the player could soon be worth over £72million, Daily Star reports.
The 19-year-old completed his move to Old Trafford from Ligue 1 giant Monaco on deadline day for a mega £36million fee, raising questions over manager Louis van Gaal’s transfer dealings.
However, the forward has so far lived up to his hefty price-tag after scoring four goals in his first four matches for the club.
Wright admitted that if he continues the form he’s in now, Martial could soon be worth double the fee United paid for him in the next few years.
“Martial’s goals record in France was hardly special with 8 in 31 games,” he said.
“But United are having the last laugh with a piece of business so shrewd that I believe Martial’s value will double in the next two years.”
In addition to his £36million move, his total fee could increase to £58million if he manages to register a certain amount of goals as agreed in his contract.
The France international is set to start for the Red Devils when they face a struggling Sunderland side in the Premier League this weekend.
