Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has claimed that North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur have the ability to win the coveted Premier League trophy this season, according to reports from the London Evening Standard.
The Lilywhites are currently in fifth, four points behind league leaders Manchester City, after drawing their latest game 0-0 at White Hart Lane against Chelsea.
However, Spurs have managed to not get beaten since the season opener against Manchester United , going 13-games undefeated since then.
And Henry is adamant that this year Mauricio Pochettino’s men can even finish above Arsenal in the top-four race as well as provide some stiff competition for the English title.
“For me, the teams in contention are Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Tottenham and maybe Liverpool,” he wrote in his column for The Sun.
The former Gunners star added that if Chelsea played the way they did last season, they would easily be at the top and possibly 10 points clear of the second place.
“Chelsea should not even be in the conversation,” he continued. “ If they get back into the top four it will prove nothing more than how poorly the top teams are doing.
“If Chelsea had played like they did last year they would be 10 points clear now, with one hand already on the trophy.
“But every time a team has had the opportunity to take charge at the top, they have wasted it.”
Henry is Arsenal’s all-time top scorer with 228 total goals in 377 games.
