Arsenal have submitted an opening offer worth £24million for Borussia Monchengladbach star Granit Xhaka, according to reports from the Mirror.
Xhaka has been heavily linked with a move away from Borussia Park in recent weeks, with the Swiss international a target for several of Europe’s elite.
However, it seems as if the Gunners have made the first move for Xhaka’s services, submitting a £24million bid in an attempt to convince Monchengladbach to sell.
The Bundesliga giants are demanding at least £32million for his exit, but Arsenal are confident they can come to an agreement before the start of next season.
The 23-year-old would easily slot right into the team due to the departure of three experienced midfielders, with Mathieu Flamini, Tomas Rosicky, and Mikel Arteta all set to leave this summer.
