Arsenal are teeing up a surprise move for Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko, according to Metro.
The Bosnian forward is widely regarded to be available after the January signing of Wilfried Bony left him struggling for first-team football at the Etihad Stadium.
Although a host of European sides have been linked with a move for the former Wolfsburg attacker, the Gunners are supposedly ready to keep Dzeko in English football.
The Gunners have Olivier Giroud as their central striker, with Danny Welbeck and Theo Walcott also options in the Emirates Stadium outfit’s forward line.
However, the Gunners are constantly linked with new strikers as doubts remain over Giroud’s ability to fire the club to major silverware.
Dzeko will surely be keen to secure a new employer this summer that will offer him more time on the pitch than he receives in Manchester.
The eastern European targetman has been a dependable option for City since moving from the Bundesliga, but Sergio Aguero is the automatic first choice in Manuel Pellegrini’s team.
