Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is set to give star winger Alexis Sanchez a mid-season break to avoid a burnout, according to reports from the Mirror.
The 26-year-old helped Chile win their first international competition in the Copa America last summer, and only a few weeks later returned to the Emirates for the start of the campaign.
And although Wenger was planning to rest Sanchez in their first few fixtures, the Frenchman deployed him from the bench in their Premier League opener against West Ham United, in which they lost 2-0.
Since then, the former Barcelona ace has been one of the first names on the team-sheet, but with the likes of Theo Walcott, Aaron Ramsey, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain already suffering injuries, Wenger could give Sanchez a rest before a hectic December period.
Arsenal will face West Bromwich Albion after the international break as they aim to overtake Manchester City at the top of the table, with the Sky Blues only in front by goal difference.
