Arsenal have missed out on the signing of Jorginho after he agreed to the terms of a new long-term deal with Napoli, Daily Star reports.
The 24-year-old was a top midfield target for manager Arsene Wenger ahead of the January window given his recent injury crisis.
Jack Wilshere, Santi Cazorla, and Francis Coquelin are all unavailable for selection as the Gunners look to reinforce their squad before the second half of the Premier League campaign.
However, they have been dealt a huge blow after Napoli confirmed via their official website that Jorginho is set to extend his stay with the Serie A club.
“Napoli announce the renewal of the contract with Jorginho until June 30, 2020.”
He has featured in the domestic league 16 times while making another one appearances in the Europa League this term and has managed to provide a total of four assists so far.
