Arsenal target Victor Wanyama is set for contract talks with Southampton in order to discuss his future, according to reports from the Daily Mail.
The 24-year-old still has two years remaining on his current deal at the club, but the Saints are hoping to further extend his stay in their efforts to quash away interest from other teams.
He joined from Scottish giants Celtic back in 2013 for a fee around the £12million region and is also said to be on the radar of Tottenham Hotspur.
Ronald Koeman is hoping to avoid any more major departures from his squad as they have already lost star right-back Nathaniel Clyne to Liverpool earlier in the summer following last season’s raid.
He is keen to reinforce his midfield, with Wanyama already being joined by Netherlands international Jordy Clasie as he is now plotting a move for Schalke’s Leon Goretzka.
The Kenya international has been a key anchorman for his side last term, featuring in a total of 32 Premier League matches, scoring three goals and providing one assist.
