Arsenal monitor two strikers ahead of January transfer window

Arsenal are preparing to make a January raid for one of either Dynamo Moscow star Aleksandr Kokorin or Celta Vigo ace Nolito, according to reports from the Daily Mail.

The Gunners were heavily linked with a move for an attacker during the summer transfer window, with the likes of Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema and Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani said to be targeted by manager Arsene Wenger.

Yet in the end, the club were unable to sign any outfield player, with only goalkeeper Petr Cech arriving from Chelsea in a £10million deal.

However, now Arsenal scouts have been informed to keep an eye on any attacking players ahead of the January transfer window, and Celta’s Nolito and Dynamo’s Kokorin are on top of the shortlist.

Nolito has been extremely impressive already this season with five goals to his name, and is an intriguing option due to his £13million release clause.

Russia international Kokorin is also being monitored, with the target man the subject of a Gunners bid on transfer deadline day.
