Arsenal need to pay at least £45million to open talks for Paris Saint-Germain duo Edinson Cavani and Ezequiel Lavezzi, according to reports from the Express.
The PSG pair have been heavily linked with a move away from the Parc des Princes in recent weeks, with Cavani also a subject of interest for Manchester United while Lavezzi has been chased by the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.
However, the Gunners are now looking at the pair after their failed attempts to sign Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, but they’ll need to stump up £45million to begin negotiations.
Arsenal have been relatively quiet in the summer transfer market, with Petr Cech from Chelsea their only major signing.
But it is expected that there will be another arrival before the end of the transfer window, with a striker high on Arsene Wenger’s shopping list.
The Gunners have bounced back from their 2-0 opening day loss to West Ham United with a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace last weekend.
