Arsenal duo Arsene Wenger and Olivier Giroud have been named as the Premier League’s Manager and Player of the Month for March.
The Gunners have put their disappointment of Champions League elimination to Monaco behind them and have been in imperious domestic form over the last two months.
Giroud has been a key reason behind the North London side’s march up the table and has scored in his last five games.
Wenger has spearheaded the Emirates Stadium outfit’s rise to third place on the table and wins the managerial accolade for the 14th time in his stint in English football.
Giroud, who has seemingly put his doubters in their place with excellent performances in recent weeks, stated that he was delighted to be recognised.
“I’m really pleased with it,” Giroud told Arsenal’s official website.
“I would like to thank my team-mates and of course the fans, because it’s a collective sport and I couldn’t do it on my own.
“It’s a great honour to have been selected as Player of the Month, especially because we wanted to bounce back from the Champions League disappointment.
“That’s what we’ve done and we’ve come back really strongly. We all want to finish strongly and this award will give me more confidence for the following games.”
Giroud will lead the line for the Gunners as they host Liverpool in a mouthwatering Premier League clash at the Emirates Stadium later today, with three critical points up for grabs.
