Arsenal are ready to spend a cool £30 million on Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge this summer in a bid to fight for the Premier League title, The Mirror report.
The Gunners have fallen short in their bid to become English champions for the first time since 2004, with the lack of a potent predator seen as a major downfall.
The North London club’s fans have urged manager Arsene Wenger to sign a proven goalscorer, but the Frenchman has persisted with the inconsistent figure of Olivier Giroud.
However, the latest report suggests that Sturridge could well be in the Gunners’ sights, with the England international not 100 per cent settled at Anfield following the appointment of Jurgen Klopp.
The former Chelsea forward has had injury concerns and dips in form over the last 12 months, but has shown that when fit and firing he can be a lethal striker.
Klopp may well be tempted to cash-in on the temperamental striker and look for a replacement this summer.
