Arsenal are preparing a £16million bid for Real Madrid’s Sami Khedira, who is also a target for Chelsea, Express reports.
Khedira will be part of Joachim Lowe’s Germany squad in this summer’s World Cup, but his future at Real Madrid is all but certain.
The German found it difficult to be part of Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti’s first team plans last season, missing much of it to injury as well as poor form.
With only 13 league appearances, Ancelotti is already looking into the transfer market for a new midfielder, with Juventus’ Paul Pogba, PSG’s Marco Veratti, and Chelsea’s Ramires all mooted as possible additions.
And according to the French media, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is interested in bringing the defensive midfielder to north London and reunite him with former team-mate and compatriot Mesut Ozil.
French newspaper publication Le 10 Sport has claimed that the Gunners were looking to make a bid of £16million to lure over the German international.
Italian side Fiorentino are also keen to bring over the midfielder, with Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho keeping a very close eye on the situation.
