Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has played down the rumours regarding a potential move to German giants Bayern Munich by confirming his stay via Twitter, Metro reports.
The 25-year-old has been under heavy criticism for his performance in recent weeks while his latest knee injury fuelled speculation that he will be departing the club once he gets back into training.
Despite Bayern believed to be preparing a £30million offer to bring him to Germany, Ozil has posted his opinions stating that he will remain a Gunner and continue playing for them.
“Thanks for your support following my injury,” he wrote.
“I’ll come back on the pitch soon as I can to help #AFC. Now and in the future.”
The World Cup winner made the switch from Real Madrid for a fee of £42.5million and was leading the La Liga’s assist charts, but is yet to reproduce his previous form, leading to a host of negative criticisms.
