Arsenal are reportedly monitoring Genoa centre-half Armando Izzo, with Metro claiming that Arsene Wenger has sent scouts to watch the defender.
The 23-year-old has nailed down a first-team place at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris this season and has caught the eye due to his stern tackling and comfort on the ball.
The report suggests that the North London side have Izzo in their sights and could well make a move for him come the January transfer window.
The Gunners are believed to have sent scouts to watch the enforcer in Genoa’s clash with his former club Napoli, which ended 0-0 recently.
Izzo marked Gonzalo Higuain out of the game in the stalemate, which will have sent the scouts heading back to the Emirates Stadium with glowing reports.
Wenger currently has Per Mertesacker, Laurent Koscielny and Gabriel fighting it out for two places at the heart of the Arsenal rearguard.
