Manchester City are set to make a £30million offer for Arsenal star Jack Wilshere this summer, according to reports from the Mirror.
Despite the Gunners’ reluctance to sell the 23-year-old following manager Arsene Wenger’s hands-off warning, City will test their resolve with a £30million bid.
The champions have had a disappointing season this time around and are planning a squad overhaul, with the club hierarchy targeting home-grown players to reach the required quota.
This has seen the likes of Liverpool duo Raheem Sterling and Jordan Henderson also linked with a switch, but the latter has recently penned a new deal to stay at Anfield.
Sterling is still being monitored, however the Citizens will need to cough up £50million for the winger.
Sky Blues boss Manuel Pellegrini is therefore focused on signing Wilshere, who after struggling with injuries for the majority of the campaign, has found it difficult to break into the first team following the emergence of Francis Coquelin.
Wilshere has only played nine Premier League games this season, scoring one goal.
