Arsenal set to smash wage structure to land forward

Luis Suarez

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is prepared to make Luis Suarez the highest paid player in Gunners history, according to the Metro.

Arsenal will tempt the Uruguayan with a whopping £160,000 a week, £60k more than any other Gunners player.

However the personal terms don’t appear to be the issue as Liverpool are standing firm and sticking to the story that their main man is not for sale.

Suarez has continuously said that he wants to leave Anfield and has been made to train alone this week with just a week to go until the start of the new Premier League season.

Liverpool may well be waiting for Real Madrid to firm up their interest in the striker having sold Gonzalo Higuain this summer but Gareth Bale appears to be the only name on their wish list at present.

Arsenal are still struggling to improve their squad ahead of the new season and Wenger knows that a big name signing will ease the pressure on him when it comes to a tricky spell in the season.
