Arsenal are hoping to complete a deal for AC Milan ace Manuel Locatelli following a number of scouting missions, Goal.com reports.
The 18-year-old was only brought up from the academy back in February, but is highly rated by club chairman Silvio Berlusconi.
He has been monitored by the Gunners over the past few months, with manager Arsene Wenger keen to add the midfielder into his ranks.
After impressing club scouts, it is now said that contact has been made with Locatelli’s agent regarding a possible switch to join the Premier League giants.
However, Milan are not keen on seeing their young star leave and is believed to have already promised him regular first-team football in hopes of ensuring his stay.
He is yet to be given his debut this season, but has so far been named in eight matchday squads by manager Sinisa Mihajlovic.
Apart from the player, Wenger is also eyeing a potential deal for Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka as he prepared to mount a title challenge next term. Something that will be tough for the Gunners to do, as stated by the best bonus and review for bet365.
