Arsenal star Laurent Koscielny has come out to back manager Arsene Wenger and is even pushing to overtaking Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City to the title, Express reports.
The 30-year-old saw his side suffer two setbacks in recent weeks as they were knocked out by Barcelona in the Champions League and were also eliminated by Watford in the FA Cup.
Despite their drop in form, the centre-back admitted that he understands the frustrations of the fans, but believes Wenger is still key to their late title push.
“The coach has been at the club for a long time,” he said.
“He is very calm. I can understand the frustration of the fans, we gave ourselves a chance of winning this trophy.
“I think the coach is still the man of the situation. Mathematically everything is still possible.”
The Gunners were huge title contenders earlier, but a string of disappointing results now see them trail leaders Leicester City by 11 points, but do have a game in hand as they enter the final eight matches of the campaign.
Koscielny has been a prominent figure in the club’s back line this term, so far featuring 36 times in all competitions for his side while managing to register three goals in the process.
