The 27-year-old is said to be considering an exit if manager Arsene Wenger is still in charge of the squad during the upcoming campaign.
However, the midfielder has come out to admit via Twitter that the Frenchman was a major factor in his decision to complete a move to the Emirates.
“Have seen the media reports today. Arsene Wenger was a big reason for me joining Arsenal – this hasn’t changed! #Respect #AFC”
The Germany international joined from Real Madrid for £42.5million back in 2013 and despite starting rather slowly, he has emerged as a key member for his squad.
Wenger is currently under heavy pressure after continuously leading his side to a slump towards the end of every campaign.
They were heavy title contenders a few months ago, but are now trailing behind leaders Leicester City by 11 points with only eight matches remaining.
Ozil has already featured 38 times in all competitions for his side this term, so far managing to score seven goals while providing another 19 assists.
