Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has hailed his team-mate Alexis Sanchez after the Gunners’ 3-0 win over Stoke on Sunday.
The Chilean international scored a brace and provided an assist in an exceptional performance, lifting Arsenal to fifth above London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Sanchez put in the cross for Laurent Koscielny’s opener before he finished a fine solo run and added the second with a cheeky free-kick.
And Oxlade-Chamberlain was in awe of his team-mate, and that the former Barcelona winger must be one of the signings of the season.
“He is amazing. He shows it week in, week out and I think that’s the most important thing,” he told Sky Sports.
“For the top players it’s about consistency and not just about being good one week but every week. And I think Alexis has done that all the way through this season.
“He was brilliant again today, got two good goals and set Laurent’s goal up as well. Hopefully it continues for him because he’s having a great season and his confidence is brimming and that helps the team as well.
“There were a lot of good performances out there but with his two goals and the assist he’s the star.”
The England international has been receiving a consistent run of game-time due to injuries in the squad, but may now be benched once the likes of Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey return to full fitness.
