Arsenal star Nacho Monreal is set to be handed a new deal despite earlier interest from Athletic Bilbao, according to reports from the Express.
The 29-year-old was previously the subject of a £6million bid from the La Liga outfits, but is now expected to continue his stay at the Emirates.
It is believed that he will see his wages increased to around the £75,000-a-week region up until 2017, with the player already said to have verbally agreed to the terms.
Once he signs his new contract, he will join Theo Walcott and Santi Cazorla with new deals after the pair confirmed their extensions last Friday.
Monreal featured a total of 39 times in all competitions last season, scoring one goal while providing a further two assists.
The potential deal will be seen as a boost for Gunners boss Arsene Wenger who has been rather quiet over the course of the current window, with his only main transfer being that of Petr Cech from Chelsea.
