Arsenal star Danny Welbeck is set to return from injury to face former club Manchester United at Old Trafford this weekend, according to reports from the Daily Mail.
Welbeck has been recovering from a knee problem that has kept him out the last two fixtures, but the England international is now expected to be recalled by manager Arsene Wenger in his 18-man squad.
Wenger is hoping to have the best roster possible, with the Gunners sitting only two points above United in the race for the last automatic Champions League spot.
On Monday, Arsenal were defeated by Swansea at the Emirates Stadium, resulting in Wenger’s men losing their grip on second place to Manchester City.
However, the Gunners do have a game in hand on their top-four rivals, with a fixture against Sunderland next Wednesday following their United clash this weekend.
Welbeck managed to score against his former club when the two sides met earlier in the FA Cup, and will be looking to punish the Red Devils for letting him go once again.
The 24-year-old has scored eight goals during 37 appearances in all competitions this season.
