Arsenal will be boosted by news that Danny Welbeck is set to make his playing return this week following a lengthy spell on the sidelines, Express reports.
The 25-year-old last featured for his club back in April and was forced to undergo surgery back in September in order to fix a recurring knee problem.
He only returned to full training last week and is set to make his playing return with the Under-21 squad when they face Brighton & Hove Albion’s reserve team this Friday.
Wenger previously revealed that Welbeck is recovering very well, but he will have to slowly ease the striker back before selecting him to feature in the Premier League.
The England international joined from Manchester United back in the summer of 2014 and managed to register 25 league appearances last term, scoring four goals while providing another three assists.
His side travel to Bournemouth this weekend before hosting a vital clash against league leaders Leicester City the following Sunday.
