Arsenal looks likely to be dealt a double injury blow ahead of their Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund after both Jack Wilshere and Wojciech Szczesny was forced off during their recent 2-1 loss to Manchester United, Mirror reports.
It was first feared that the 22-year-old midfielder either broke or fractured his ankle, but upon further scans, he was given the good news that he suffered no such fate.
However, Wilshere is still being monitored as he may have potential ligament damage with Arsene Wenger already ruling out the possibility that he could miss the match against Dortmund.
Szczesny, who suffered a hip injury in the build up to United’s first goal, could also miss the upcoming match although the seriousness of his knock has been played down.
The Gunners number one is tipped to be sidelined in midweek and with David Ospina also out, the club’s third choice keeper Damian Martinez is likely to once again be called upon to stand between the sticks.
