Arsenal target Riyad Mahrez has been offered a huge new contract to tempt him to stay at Leicester City, according to the Daily Telegraph.
Leicester have apparently offered their Algerian star a contract of £100,000 a week as they look to keep hold of the PFA Player of the Year and one of their key players who helped guide them to the Premier League title last season.
If Mahrez does not opt to sign a new contract – after he has refused to confirm his future is with the Foxes – it is thought that Leicester will demand a fee in excess of £30 million after he dazzled the Premier League last season.
Jamie Vardy is already in talks with Arsenal and Mahrez has joined Vardy, Kante and Schmeichel in being key Leicester squad players who have been offered substantially improved terms this summer.
Arsenal will continue to monitor the situation, as will many other of Europe’s biggest clubs.
