Arsenal target skips training to force through rival move

Arsenal target Gonzalo Higuain is trying to force through his move to Juventus, after skipping Napoli’s pre-season training, reports Gazzetta World.

The 28-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal, as Arsene Wenger looks to bolster his attacking options for the new season. The Frenchman has already missed out on signing Jamie Vardy, who turned down a move to the Emirates.

And now they look set to lose out on Higuain too, with speculation linking him with a move to Serie A champions Juventus in the next couple of days, according to talkSPORT.

The Argentine broke Italian records last season, scoring the highest ever personal tally in a single season, netting 36 times. He scored a hat-trick on the final day of the campaign to take the record.

He doubled his 14-15 Serie A tally, whilst also scoring twice in the UEFA Europa League.

But the Gunners are set to miss out on the forward, and could well be kicking off their new season without a new forward. They host Liverpool on August 14th.
