Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been among a handful of Arsenal stars that have been linked with a move away from the Emirates this summer.
This is mainly down to the fact that the England international has just one year remaining on his current contract and is yet to put pen to paper on fresh terms.
According to a report in the London Evening Standard, Chelsea are growing increasingly confident that they can agree a £35m deal for the 23-year-old, who can play on the wing or through the middle.
The publication states that negotiations are underway, and it is safe to suggest that Oxlade-Chamberlain would fit into Antonio Conte’s system playing as a wing-back.
Chelsea are not the only club that have been linked to the former Southampton star; Liverpool are also thought to be admirers.
Earlier this month, according to the Liverpool Echo, Oxlade-Chamberlain appeared to hint that he was interested in a switch to Anfield when he ‘liked’ a tweet claiming that he could join the Reds for £28m.
From the bookmakers’ point of view, though, the attacking star is more likely to stay at Arsenal than move on this summer.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has indicated that the England international is in his plans this season after he named him in the first XI for the team’s 4-3 victory over Leicester City on the opening day of the Premier League season last Friday.
