Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has dropped a hint that he may have finally solved his anchorman problems as he may put on a halt on his chase for Manchester United target Sami Khedira, Daily Star reports.
The 27-year-old Real Madrid man was said to be on his way to the Premier League after also being linked with Chelsea and Liverpool during the summer as well as in the build up to the January window.
Wenger was very keen in reinforcing his squad with the addition of a defensive midfielder after the injuries and decline in form of both Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini exposed a host of defensive flaws in his side.
However, after his side came away with a 2-0 victory over Manchester City at the Etihad, the form for Francis Coquelin in the midfield role seemed to have caught the eye of his manager, causing him to hint that he may not need another signing at this point.
“Having to find solutions internally is a blessing.
“And at the moment it works well.”
