Arsenal are considering a move for Bayern Munich star Mario Gotze, according to reports from the Express.
Gotze was heavily targeted by the Gunners while he was at Borussia Dortmund, but chose to join Bayern in the summer of 2013 instead.
However, the Germany international is finding consistency hard to come by at the Allianz Arena, with manager Pep Guardiola playing him in a multitude of positions in order to accommodate his other star players.
This has therefore fuelled speculation that Gotze could leave the club this summer, alerting the Gunners to his services.
The 22-year-old has also interested Manchester United, with Liverpool legend Dietmar Hamann even urging Bayern to make a swap deal to sign Angel di Maria from the Red Devils.
But the Gunners do have a slight advantage in luring Gotze over due to a German contingent of players which include Mesut Ozil, Per Mertesacker, and returning attacker Lukas Podolski, all already plying their trade at the Emirates Stadium.
