Arsenal’s injury woes are set to continue after Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs are both a doubt for Wednesday’s clash against Southampton, Mirror reports.
With the defensive duo most likely sidelined for the clash against the Saints, Gunners manager Arsene Wenger is set to deploy centre-midfielder Mathieu Flamini as a make-shift left-back.
Monreal replaced Gibbs who sustained a knock in their 1-0 win over West Bromwich Albion over the weekend, but then also got himself injured in the final 22 minutes of the game.
This has therefore forced Wenger to do a reshuffle at the back, which means Flamini could start on the left on Wednesday.
The French boss also has the option to field youngster Hector Bellarin, but looks likely to opt for the more experienced Flamini against Southampton, who currently sit in third place.
Wenger will however be buoyed by the return of Laurent Koscielny, who played all 90 minutes against the Baggies to help his side earn a clean-sheet.
Winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is also set to start against his old club, while Yaya Sanogo returns after picking up a knock against Borussia Dortmund in midweek.
